On November 9th, Nassau County Legislator Denise Ford attended the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the beginning construction of the Solar Panel project at Long Beach Catholic Regional School.
The “Go Green” decision started a year ago, spearheaded by the LBCR School Board which received overwhelming support of the entire school family, and eventually including St. Ignatius Martyr parish. After much research, and in cooperation with the Diocese of Rockville Centre, EmPower CES of Island Park was chosen to install a 30k W Solar Electric System on the roof.  They will install a kiosk in the main hallway of the school so that the students can monitor the day to day impact achieved by the solar panel installation.
